Ordering a Custom Korean BBQ Tabletop: Measurements and Finish Checklist

A custom Korean BBQ tabletop order should identify the exact grill, supporting base, overall dimensions, cutout and finish. Approve those details together before fabrication. A tabletop color or product photograph does not define the complete table package.

Name the tabletop, base and appliance separately

Use a separate line for each component on the quote. This prevents an assembled photograph from being mistaken for an included package.

Prepare a dimensioned drawing

Send the supplier a drawing with units, a revision date and a table identifier. Distinguish overall tabletop dimensions from the grill opening and the appliance's outside dimensions.

Include:

• Overall length, width and thickness.
• Edge shape, corner treatment and finish reference.
• Exact appliance model and its current installation drawing.
• Cutout location measured from named edges.
• Base model, mounting arrangement and supporting points.
• Space needed below for connections and servicing.

Ask the supplier to mark any unresolved dimensions rather than assuming them. Have the installer check the grill support and required access before the tabletop is cut.

Review a sample as well as a photograph

View a physical finish sample if available. Record its name or code so a later quote describes the same selection. Ask how the supplied finish should be cleaned and what exposure limits apply around the proposed appliance.

Include accessibility in the designer's review. The U.S. Access Board's ADA standards are a primary reference for covered dining surfaces and routes; selecting a tabletop size alone does not establish compliance.

Approve one written version

Before payment or fabrication, ask the supplier to return a final drawing and component list. Check the quantity of each size and finish, the matching base and the cutout revision. Keep that version with the order confirmation.

Ask when changes become chargeable, whether custom items can be returned, how the tops are packed and what delivery access is required. Obtain current terms rather than assuming the rules for stock furniture apply.
